The NHS in London is reminding eligible people to get their COVID-19 spring booster vaccine before 17 June .
Local teams in London are working hard to make the vaccine available to as many people as possible this year, which provides vital protection against different strains of the COVID-19 virus and reduces the risk of serious illness and hospitalisation.
The covid spring booster is available at around 800 locations across the capital and there are around 300,000 booking slots available via the national booking service.
Eligible people include adults aged 75 years and over, residents in a care home for older adults and individuals aged six months and over who are immunosuppressed.
Nationally, the NHS has now invited all eligible people to come forward for their jabs, having already sent over 9.7 million invitations, and teams are now sending reminders via text, email, NHS App messages or letters.
Medical director for the NHS in London Dr Chris Streather said: 揅ovid-19 continues to be dangerous for those most at risk, particularly older people and those with weakened immune systems, so we are encouraging all those who are eligible to come forward and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
揘HS staff will continue to organise visits to care homes for older people and eligible housebound patients, with the latest data showing uptake among older adults in care homes is now at 50%.
揧ou do not need to wait until you are invited and can visit the NHS website, use the NHS App or call 119 to book an appointment.
